The Texas Coffee School Espresso & Milk Skills Class is an exciting and very hands-on 7.5-hour barista training class that focuses the fundamentals of quality-oriented espresso, and espresso-based drinks. Students will gain a wealth of insight into espresso history and science along with the hands-on skills necessary for making all the classic espresso based drinks.
1-Day Barista Class Topics Include:
• The history and science of espresso
• Comparing different types of espresso machines and their parts
• Developing your espresso tasting palate
• Proper espresso grinding, dosing, distribution, and tamping
• Proper use of espresso machine
• Grinder types + grinder calibration & shot timing
• Proper milk steaming, and texturing
• Classic espresso and milk based drink preparation
• Basic latte art pouring mechanics
• Efficiency and consistency
• Basic espresso equipment cleaning, care, and maintenance
Our barista classes provides ample hands-on lab time with expert instruction in a relaxed, non-intimidating setting. Our goal is to make every class approachable and fun for anyone at any interest level!
This barista training class is perfect for home enthusiasts, working baristas, coffee shop managers, or anyone looking to further their espresso and milk skills. The same fundamental barista skills apply for all interest levels.
