The Texas Coffee School 2-Day Barista Class combines our popular Espresso & Milk Skills Class and Coffee Brewing Methods Class into one comprehensive workshop – at a discounted price! This coffee class is perfect for professionals and casual home enthusiasts alike! Students will gain the skills necessary to feel confident working in a quality-oriented coffee shop environment, or as a skilled home barista. Students will learn the theory, process, and technique associated with quality-oriented coffee brewing including how to properly operate an espresso machine, grinders, and traditional coffee brewing equipment. In addition, students will learn how use popular hand crafted brewing methods including: French press, Chemex, Hario V60, Clever Dripper, and the Toddy cold brew system.
Day One Class Topics include:
• The history and science of espresso
• Developing your espresso tasting palate
• Proper espresso grinding, dosing, distribution, and tamping
• Proper use and calibration of espresso machine + grinders
• Classic espresso and milk based drink preparation
• Milk science, steaming, and texturing
• Basic latte art pouring mechanics
• Espresso bar efficiency and consistency
• Coffee house customer service
• Espresso equipment cleaning, care, and maintenance

• How to determine correct coffee to water ratio, grind size, optimum brewing method, and water temperature
