The Texas Coffee School 2-Day Barista Class combines our popular Espresso & Milk Skills Class and Coffee Brewing Methods Class into one comprehensive workshop – at a discounted price! This coffee class is perfect for coffee shop owners seeking staff training, working baristas, and casual home enthusiasts. Students will gain the skills necessary to feel confident working in a quality-oriented coffee shop environment, or as a skilled home barista. Students will learn the theory, process, and technique associated with quality-oriented coffee brewing. Students will learn how to properly operate an espresso machine, grinders, and traditional coffee brewing equipment. In addition, students will learn how use popular hand crafted brewing methods including the: French press, Chemex, Hario V60, Clever Dripper, and the Toddy cold brew system.

 

Day One Class Topics include:

The history and science of espresso

Comparing different types of espresso machines and their parts

Developing your espresso tasting palate

Proper espresso grinding, dosing, distribution, and tamping

Proper use of espresso machine

Grinder types + grinder calibration & shot timing

Proper milk steaming, and texturing

Classic espresso and milk based drink preparation

Basic latte art pouring mechanics

Efficiency and consistency

Basic espresso equipment cleaning, care, and maintenance
